Medical Definition of Amidostomum anseris

1. A species of bloodsucking nematodes, similar to those of the genus Trichostrongylus, that parasitises the gizzard and sometimes also the proventriculus and oesophagus of domestic and wild ducks and geese; it causes heavy mortality in young birds. Origin: amido-+ G. Stoma, mouth, + L. Anser, goose (05 Mar 2000)
