Medical Definition of Hyostrongylus rubidus
1. The red stomach worm of swine; a small reddish trichostrongyle nematode that burrows into the mucosa of the fundus of the pig stomach and sucks blood; moderate numbers appear to cause little damage unless the animal's resistance is lowered by other factors.
