Medical Definition of Pfr
1. The form of phytochrome that absorbs light in the far red region, 730nm and is thus converted to Pr. It slowly and spontaneously converts to Pr in the dark. This entry appears with permission from the Dictionary of Cell and Molecular Biology (11 Mar 2008)
