Medical Definition of Weil-Felix test

1. A serologic fluorescent antibody screen that indicates infection with the rickettsial bacteria which is responsible for Rocky Mountain spotted fever. This test may also be positive in brucellosis, salmonella infection and tularaemia. (27 Sep 1997)
