Medical Definition of Bromoviridae

1. A family of RNA plant viruses with a wide host range in crops and horticultural species. All viruses are readily transmitted by mechanical means and some by insects and pollen. There are four genera: alfamovirus, bromovirus, cucumovirus, and ilarvirus. (12 Dec 1998)
