Medical Definition of Calcium-calmodulin dependent protein kinase

1. A calmodulin-dependent enzyme that catalyses the phosphorylation of proteins. This enzyme is also sometimes dependent on calcium. A wide range of proteins can act as acceptor, including vimentin, synapsin, glycogen synthase, myosin light chains, and the microtubule-associated proteins. Registry number: EC 2.7.10.- (12 Dec 1998)
