Medical Definition of Chemical peel

1. A special plastic surgical procedure in which a chemical is applied to the face which removes the outer layer of the skin. This procedure is used to remove fine lines and wrinkles in the face. After a chemical peel the skin is usually very sensitive to sunlight exposure. (27 Sep 1997)
