Medical Definition of Crown gall tumour

1. A disease which afflicts dicot plants, caused by the bacteria Agrobacterium tumefaciens. The disease causes large tumours to form in the roots or in the stems nearest the roots, deforming the plant along its base (where it meets the ground). (09 Oct 1997)
