Ovarian cyst, mature follicle measures up to 2.5 cm at ovulation, corpus luteum cyst common in first 16 weeks of pregnancy, polycystic (Stein-Leventhal) disease, paraovarian cyst, Wolffian duct remnants in broad ligament, ovarian neoplasm, serous cystadenoma (most common benign ovarian tumour), mucinous cystadenoma (usually complex), cystic teratoma (usually complex), endometriosis, diffuse (not detectable by ultrasound), localised (generally anechoic or hypoechoic), ectopic pregnancy, pelvic inflammatory disease, gonorrhoea or chlamydia, localised abscess and hydrosalpinx, non-gynecologic mass, mesenteric cyst, ureterocele, bladder diverticula, lymphocele (12 Dec 1998)
