Medical Definition of Egtazic acid

1. A chelating agent relatively more specific for calcium and less toxic than edetic acid (edta). It has been used in the treatment of urolithiasis. Pharmacological action: antidotes, chelating agents. Chemical name: 6,9-Dioxa-3,12-diazatetradecanedioic acid, 3,12-bis(carboxymethyl)- (12 Dec 1998)
