Medical Definition of Ellis type 1 nephritis
1. An obsolete designation for glomerulonephritis presenting as acute glomerulonephritis, followed by complete recovery in most cases, or the development of rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis, or incomplete remission with persistent proteinuria and subsequent development of chronic glomerulonephritis.
