Medical Definition of Hypereosinophilia

1. A greater degree of abnormal increase in the number of eosinophilic granulocytes in the circulating blood or the tissues; e.g., in diseases where the degree of eosinophilia usually ranges from 10 to 30%, an increase to 50 or 60% (or more) might be regarded as hypereosinophilia. (05 Mar 2000)
