Medical Definition of Hypothalamic sulcus

1. A groove in the lateral wall of the third ventricle on either side leading from the interventricular foramen to the aditus ad aqueductum cerebri; the sulcus-demarcated boundary between dorsal thalamus and hypothalamus. Synonym: sulcus hypothalamicus, Monro's sulcus. (05 Mar 2000)
