1. A sterile buffered suspension with zinc chloride, containing 40 or 80 units per ml; the solid phase of the suspension consists of a mixture of 7 parts of crystalline insulin and 3 parts of amorphous insulin. Synonym: lente insulin. (05 Mar 2000)
