Medical Definition of Intracranial hypertension

1. Increased pressure of the cerebrospinal fluid. If symmetrically distributed it may have few neurologic symptoms (e.g., pseudotumour cerebri), but if it is asymmetrical (as in hydrocephalus), neurological symptoms are often severe. (12 Dec 1998)
