1. The thickened part of the capsule of the hip joint that passes from the ischium upward and laterally over the femoral neck; some of its fibres continue into the zona orbicularis. Synonym: ligamentum ischiofemorale, ischiocapsular ligament, ligamentum ischiocapsulare. (05 Mar 2000)
