Medical Definition of Ligamentum pisometacarpeum

1. A strong fibrous band extending from the pisiform bone to the base of the fifth metacarpal bone; this ligament, together with the pisohamate ligament, forms the tendon of insertion of the flexor carpi ulnaris, in which the pisiform bone is like a sesamoid bone.
