Medical Definition of Neurokinin k

1. A mammalian decapeptide tachykinin found in the central nervous system. It is similar in structure and action to substance p and substance k (neurokinin a). The compound has bronchoconstrictor, smooth muscle constrictor, and hypotensive effects and also activates the micturition reflex. Chemical name: Kassinin, 2-L-methionine-3-L-histidine-4-de-L-lysine-5-de-L-serine-7-L-phenylalanine- (12 Dec 1998)
