Rare condition of cortical thickening of unknown aetiology most commonly seen in the long bones, 3-59 years, symptoms: usually pain of varying severity, occasionally limited ROM, contracture, insidious onset and chronic course X-ray findings: cortical sclerosis and thickening that may encroach on the medullary canal -- looks like wax flowing down a candle (12 Dec 1998)
