1. The thickened, central portion of the fascia ensheathing the hand; it radiates toward the bases of the fingers from the tendon of the palmaris longus muscle. Synonym: aponeurosis palmaris, Dupuytren's fascia, palmar fascia. (05 Mar 2000)
