Medical Definition of Phacomatosis
1. A generic term for a group of hereditary diseases characterised by hamartomas involving multiple tissues; e.g., von Hippel-Lindau's disease, neurofibromatosis, Sturge-Weber syndrome, tuberous sclerosis.
