1. Conveys motor fibres from the cranial root of the accessory nerve to the pharyngeal constrictor muscles, the intrinsic muscles of the soft palate and the levator palati muscle; may also bring some general sensory fibres to the pharyngeal plexus. Synonym: rami pharyngei nervi vagi. (05 Mar 2000)
