Medical Definition of Polyzygotic twins
1. Twin's resulting from fertilization of more than two ova discharged in a single ovulating cycle. Siamese twins, originally, a much publicised conjoined pair of twin's (xiphopagus) from Siam in the 19th century; this term has since come into general lay usage for any type of conjoined twin's, but is incorrect.
