Medical Definition of Renal artery obstruction

1. Narrowing or occlusion of the renal arteries. It is due usually to atherosclerosis, fibromuscular dysplasia, thrombosis, embolism, or external pressure. It may result in renovascular hypertension. (12 Dec 1998)
