Medical Definition of Short vinculum
1. A triangular band that extends from the dorsal surface of each of the flexor tendons of a digit to the capsule of the nearby interphalangeal joint and to the phalanx proximal to the insertion of the tendon. Synonym: vinculum breve. (05 Mar 2000)
