Medical Definition of Spermatic cord torsion

1. Torsion of the spermatic cord caused usually by incomplete attachment of the epididymis to the testis or by inclusion of the cord within the tunica vaginalis. Maldevelopment of various anatomical components of the testes can also be cause. It occurs most frequently in childhood and adolescence. (12 Dec 1998)
