Medical Definition of Tethered cord syndrome

1. Abnormal low positioning (below the L2 vertebrae) of the distal spinal cord (conus medullaris) by the filum terminale. May be associated with incontinence, progressive motor and sensory impairment in the legs, pain, and scoliosis. (05 Mar 2000)
