1. A large communicating vein between the superficial middle cerebral vein and the superior sagittal sinus; it passes upward from the lateral sulcus, often following the line of the central sulcus (Rolando's fissure). Synonym: vena anastomotica superior, Trolard's vein. (05 Mar 2000)
