Medical Definition of Vena petrosa

1. A short trunk formed by the union of four or five cerebellar and pontine veins opposite the middle cerebellar peduncle; it terminates in the superior petrosal sinus. See: superior petrosal sinus, inferior petrosal sinus. Synonym: vena petrosa. (05 Mar 2000)
