1. A disease of very young ducklings, caused by the duck hepatitis virus (family Hepadnoviridae) and manifested as an acute illness of several days followed by death; the principal lesions are an enlarged necrotic liver filled with ecchymotic haemorrhages. (05 Mar 2000)
