1. Pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma, a rare variant of astrocytoma usually presenting early in life with seizures. The tumour is superficially located and composed of pleomorphic glial cells, lipidised astrocytes, and perivascular lymphocytes. Synonym: xanthoastrocytoma. (05 Mar 2000)
