From rat liver peroxisomes; catalyses the epimerization of d-3-hydroxyacyl CoA by the dehydration of 3-hydroxyacyl-CoA to 2-trans-enoyl-CoA followed by the hydration of the latter enzyme to l-3-hydroxyacyl-CoA by enoyl-CoA hydratase (EC 4.2.1.17); is not active on 2-cis-enoyl CoA; consider also EC 4.2.1.74 Registry number: EC 4.2.1.- Synonym: d-3-hydroxyacyl coenzyme a dehydratase, beta-hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydratase (26 Jun 1999)
