Medical Definition of Muckle-Wells syndrome

1. A syndrome characterised by familial amyloidosis, notably involving the kidneys, progressive hearing loss of neural origin and unknown cause, and periods of febrile urticaria associated with pain in joints and muscles of the extremities; autosomal dominant inheritance. (05 Mar 2000)
