Medical Definition of Schindler disease

1. An autosomal recessive disorder with deficient activity of alpha-N-acetylgalactosaminidase resulting in accumulation of glycoproteins and other substrates which are deposited in terminal axons, primarily in gray matter. (05 Mar 2000)
