1. 1-allyl-6-amino-3-ethyluracil;synthetic uracil derivative; an orally effective diuretic that is believed to act by inhibiting the reabsorption of sodium by the renal tubules; used in the treatment of oedema due to congestive heart failure, liver disease, pregnancy, and certain drugs.
