Medical Definition of Angiogenin

1. A 14 kD polypeptide that produces angiogenesis and stimulates the proliferation of endothelial cells. It is produced some cancer cells and results in new blood vessel growth. It has sequence homology with pancreatic ribonuclease and has ribonucleolytic activity. (18 Nov 2007)
