Medical Definition of Cervical lymphadenitis

Refers to inflammation of the lymph glands in the neck. Often occurs secondary to a viral or bacterial (Streptococcus) infection.
Common symptoms include pain and tenderness to the swollen lymph glands in the neck. Cervical lymphadenitis may accompany tonsillitis, pharyngitis and dental infections.
