Medical Definition of Cholaemic nephrosis
1. An obsolete term for the occurrence of acute renal failure in jaundiced patients; the kidneys contain tubular casts of bile and may show tubular necrosis, but there is little evidence that jaundice or bile casts directly damage the kidneys. (05 Mar 2000)
