Medical Definition of Coproporphyrinogen oxidase

1. One of the enzymes active in haem biosynthesis. It catalyses the oxidative decarboxylation of coproporphyrinogen III to protoporphyrinogen III by the conversion of two propionic acid groups to two vinyl groups.
