1. The heavy arched fibrous band that passes between the coracoid process and the acromion above the shoulder joint; the osseofibrous arch thus formed prevents upward dislocation of the shoulder (glanohumeral) joint. Synonym: ligamentum coracoacromiale. (05 Mar 2000)
