Medical Definition of Coronin

1. Actin binding protein (55 kD) of Dictyostelium discoideum. Associated with crown shaped cell surface projections of growth phase cells. Accumulates at front of cells responding to a chemotactic gradient of cAMP. Amino terminal domain has similaritiy to subunits of G-proteins, C terminal has high helical content.
