Medical Definition of Erythrocytorrhexis

1. A partial erythrocytolysis in which particles of protoplasm escape from the red blood cells, which then become crenated and deformed. Synonym: erythrorrhexis. Origin: erythrocyte + G. Rhexis, rupture (05 Mar 2000)
