Medical Definition of Granular layer of epidermis
1. A layer of somewhat flattened cells containing basophilic granules of keratohyalin and lying just above the stratum spinosum and deeply to the stratum corneum. Synonym: stratum granulosum epidermidis. (05 Mar 2000)
