1. Noun. A military slang term meaning the extraction of military forces by longer range vehicles (helicopter, boat, armoured personnel carrier) from an extraction point whilst under fire from enemy forces. It comes from the term "hot", meaning to be under fire and "extraction" from extraction point. ¹
