Medical Definition of Hydropic degeneration

1. Swelling of cells due to injury to the membranes affecting ionic transfer; causes an accumulation of intracellular water. Synonym: albuminous swelling, granular degeneration, hydropic degeneration, parenchymatous degeneration. (05 Mar 2000)
