Branch of oculomotor nerve providing motor branches to medial and inferior rectus and inferior oblique muscles and carrying presynaptic parasympathetic fibres which pass to the ciliary ganglion via the parasympathetic root.
Synonym: ramus inferior nervi oculomotorii.
