Medical Definition of Inositol phosphate

1. Virtually all of the possible phosphorylated states of inositol have been reported to occur in living tissues. The hexaphosphate, phytic acid, is abundant in many plant tissues and is a powerful calcium chelator. See: phosphatidyl inositol 3 kinase.
