Medical Definition of Interatrial foramen secundum
1. A secondary opening appearing in the upper part of the septum primum in the sixth week of embryonic life, just prior to the closure of the interatrial foramen primum. Synonym: ostium secundum, secondary interatrial foramen. (05 Mar 2000)
