Medical Definition of Interleukin-7

1. A haematopoietic growth factor that promotes growth of B-cell precursors and is also co-mitogenic with interleukin-2 for mature T-cell activation. It is produced by bone marrow stromal cells. Acronym: IL-7 (12 Dec 1998)
