Medical Definition of Lysophosphatidic acid

1. A phosphatidic acid in which only one of the two hydroxyl groups of the glycerophosphate is esterified; most commonly, when carbon-1 of the glycerol moiety is esterified (e.g., 1-acylglycerol-3-phosphate). (05 Mar 2000)
